IMRT Radiation Treatment

Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is a specialized form of radiotherapy that delivers precise and highly targeted doses of radiation to cancerous tumors, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. By modulating the intensity of the radiation beams, IMRT allows for greater treatment accuracy and improved outcomes for patients undergoing radiation therapy.

Tandem & Ovoid

Tandem and ovoid is a type of brachytherapy treatment used in gynecological cancers, particularly cervical cancer. It involves placing a tandem (a tube) and two ovoids (small cylinders) into the vagina and cervix to deliver a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor, ensuring targeted therapy while sparing nearby healthy tissues.

SRS

SRS, or Stereotactic Radiosurgery, is a non-invasive radiation treatment that delivers a high dose of radiation precisely to a small target within the brain or other parts of the body. Despite its name, SRS is not a surgical procedure but rather an advanced form of radiotherapy that is highly effective in treating certain brain tumors, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and other selected conditions.

PLUVICTO

Pluvicto is a groundbreaking radiopharmaceutical therapy designed for patients with advanced prostate cancer. It works by delivering targeted radiation directly to cancer cells, helping to slow disease progression while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. As a cutting-edge treatment, Pluvicto offers new hope for patients who have exhausted other options, improving both outcomes and quality of life.

LDRT for Osteoarthritis

In LDRT, very low doses of radiation are delivered in precise fashion to the affected joint, typically three times per week for a total of six treatments.  These low doses of radiation have been shown to reduce inflammation, stimulate healing, and alleviate the pain and loss of mobility associated with osteoarthritis.

We are the first, and most experienced, team in Central Florida offering LDRT for osteoarthritis.  Many patients experience significant pain relief and improved mobility after LDRT.

3D Radiation Treatment

3D radiation treatment, also known as 3D conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT), is a radiotherapy technique that uses advanced imaging to precisely map the shape and size of the tumor and surrounding healthy tissues in three dimensions. By customizing the radiation beams to match the tumor's shape, 3D radiation treatment maximizes radiation dose to the tumor while minimizing exposure to nearby critical organs, improving treatment efficacy and reducing side effects.

High-Dose Rate (HDR)

High-Dose Rate (HDR) radiation therapy is a type of brachytherapy that delivers a precise and intense dose of radiation to a localized area within the body. In HDR, a radioactive source is temporarily placed in or near the tumor for a short period, allowing for effective treatment while reducing the exposure of surrounding healthy tissues to radiation.

SBRT

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) is a specialized radiation treatment that delivers highly focused and precise doses of radiation to small tumors or specific areas in the body. Using advanced imaging and precise targeting techniques, SBRT allows for a shortened treatment course with high doses per session, making it particularly effective for treating certain early-stage cancers and metastatic lesions.

LUTATHERA

Lutathera is an FDA-approved radiopharmaceutical treatment for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs). By specifically targeting tumor cells with precision radiation, Lutathera helps reduce tumor growth and manage symptoms effectively. As the first center in Central Florida to administer this therapy, we are proud to offer patients access to this highly advanced and promising treatment option.

Leipzig for skin cancers

At our clinic, we offer advanced skin cancer treatment using the Leipzig applicator, a specialized form of high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy. This precise technique delivers targeted radiation directly to the skin’s surface, making it ideal for treating non-melanoma skin cancers and superficial lesions in delicate areas like the nose, ears, and scalp—while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
